Privacy
Effective and last updated: 17 July 2026
This policy explains how UpSolve collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you use upsolve.co. UpSolve is the controller of personal data handled for operation of the platform. Products linked or presented through UpSolve may have separate privacy practices controlled by their builders.
Do not include sensitive personal data, production credentials, customer records, or confidential information in public posts, comments, or solution descriptions.
We use personal data to create and secure accounts; authenticate sessions; display profiles and community activity; operate voting, comments, submissions, review, and notifications; prevent fraud and abuse; enforce policies; respond to requests; maintain and improve reliability; comply with law; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process data to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing UpSolve, comply with legal obligations, and act on consent where consent is specifically requested. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Usernames, avatars, biographies, problems, comments, vote totals, builder identities, and selected solution information may be public. Your email address, password hash, private review information, and notifications are not intentionally displayed publicly. Public information may be indexed, copied, or shared by others.
We use service providers to host and operate UpSolve, including Vercel for application hosting and Supabase for database and file storage. They process data under their own security and data protection terms. We may also disclose data where required by law, to protect people or platform security, during a corporate transaction, or with your direction. UpSolve does not sell personal data or use it for third-party behavioral advertising.
UpSolve uses an essential, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in and protect account access. This cookie is necessary for the service to function. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.
We retain account and community data while your account is active and for as long as reasonably required to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, maintain backups, and meet legal obligations. Deleted data may remain in secured backups until those backups expire through normal rotation. Public discussions may be retained or de-identified where needed to preserve community context and platform integrity.
We use measures designed to protect data, including password hashing, signed HTTP-only session cookies, access controls, encrypted transport, restricted server credentials, and managed hosting. No system is completely secure. Use a unique password and report suspected account compromise promptly.
UpSolve and its providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers. Data protection laws may differ between jurisdictions.
You can edit your username, biography, avatar, and password from your profile. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data, and to complain to a data protection authority. To make a request, email support@upsolve.co. We may verify your identity before acting.
UpSolve is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us so it can be reviewed and removed.
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The updated date will appear above, and additional notice will be provided where required. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to support@upsolve.co.
